The Report on Impact of Targeted Poverty Alleviation Strategy in Hong Kong (“the Report”) elaborates on the content and impact of the Government's targeted poverty alleviation measures. It also reflects, from a macro perspective, the impact of the four major livelihood policies, namely social welfare and employment services, housing, education, and healthcare, as well as their effects in empowering those who could help themselves, and supporting those who could not. The report illustrates how the Government's major policies alleviate, combat and prevent poverty, thereby effectively enhancing people's sense of achievement and satisfaction. Meanwhile, The report quantifies at a macro level the social value transferred to households that benefit from regular housing, health, education, and welfare measures. Such an analysis would reflect in a more comprehensive manner the Government's efforts and effectiveness in alleviating poverty. Finally, the report outlines future strategies for relevant work.
